A warm welcome to Charlie Box who joined RPGC a couple of months ago but has only just returned to the U.K. in the last few days from a successful year on the United States College Circuit.
Charlie whose U.K. base is with his family in East Goscote, recorded six wins for Hutchinson College, aka Blue Dragons in Kansas including a round of 62 in a tournament in New York where he won the individual and team prize. The last of his six wins was the NJCAA National title earlier this month.
In the Autumn he is transferring to Eastern Michigan College which is in the highest tier of the American College system.
19 year old Charlie has been a member at Kirby Muxloe G.C. for the last four years, where his coach is situated. Although K.M. is designated as his home club, he decided to also join RPGC where he has many friends.
Keep an eye out for him (you can’t miss him) as he has already had several rounds at RPGC since his return from the USA.
We will be reporting on his progress during the season as he competes in some of the top amateur events in the U.K. and abroad.
