As this years Men’s Captain, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Men’s section of Rothley Park.
Throughout the year we provide a wealth of opportunities for you to play both competitive and friendly golf. From April through to October we have weekly club competitions on a Saturday.
All members are welcome to enter these competitions and if you need a playing partner, our Professional team will be happy to help arrange this for you.
In addition there is a weekly Tuesday medal which runs from April to the end of September.
During the summer months there are several 9 hole evening competitions for those with less time on their hands. When fixed competitions are not taking place in the summer and throughout the winter months, there is a Saturday morning “Swindle”, which is a friendly Stableford format. There are knock out competitions in both the summer and winter. The small membership enables all members to be assured a place in all of these competitions and quickly find themselves playing with familiar faces.
Mixed social competitions are organised throughout the year with a 9 hole competition on Friday evenings which are very popular throughout the Summer. Meals are provided afterwards and weather permitting, include barbecues.
To both existing and new members, may I extend a warm welcome to our club and if you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me: gentcaptain@rothleypark.co.uk
As 2025 Ladies Captain, may I welcome you to Rothley Park.
We are a very active Ladies section that covers all age groups including Full Playing, Intermediate, Seniors, and Juniors. We have a full range of club competitions in the summer months to encourage all members to play competitive golf and make new friends. These are held every Tuesday with an additional opportunity to play on Saturdays or Sundays for those who are unable to play on a Tuesday.
During the summer months we are running several 9 hole competitions for those with less time on their hands, which can be played in the early evening.
There are knock-out competitions in both the summer and winter and a mixed winter league played with our Men’s section. Also, we hold mixed competitions in the summer to further encourage integration with our friends and partners in the Men’s section!
Scratch and Handicap teams play League matches. Friendly matches, high handicap, Senior and Junior matches also take place during the summer months, where ladies of all standards of golf are given an opportunity to enjoy playing against other Clubs. Rothley has a mixed team which plays a full set of fixtures during the summer.

As this year’s Junior captain, I am delighted to welcome you to the active and growing Junior section at Rothley Park Golf Club.
The Junior section is a very friendly and welcoming area of the club. Just a few years ago, The junior team consisted of a few key players however now we have a wealth of youth talent. Qualifying for a ‘junior status’ is anyone who is under the age of 18.
As part of the junior section, players are offered a wide variety of competitions and matches that they may take part in if they wish. Club competitions are run on a regular basis in the summer months. These include, Flag 50 (aimed at younger juniors), 9 hole stablefords (aimed at intermediate juniors) and 18 hole stablefords (aimed for the slightly more experienced juniors). Alongside the internal club competitions, the junior section also competes against other clubs in a league format and matches are played in a team of 4.
In addition to the junior competitions and matches, group junior coaching is also run during the summer months for the younger juniors.
Regards,
Samuel Leeke
I am immensely proud to be elected as Seniors Captain for 2025, and may I take this opportunity to welcome any members of 55 years or above to join our thriving senior section.
We are very active in midweek, particularly in the April-September period. We have matches against other local clubs, both home and away, roll up’s on most Mondays (where there is no home match) and also on some Wednesdays. We also have regular stableford and medal competitions throughout the year. In addition to this the club hosts two open events for seniors, the Am Am in June and a better ball pairs in July. Details of these can be found in the “Open Competitions” section. We are also active in the winter months with a 5 club challenge, Texas scramble and eclectic competition all proving to be competitive good fun, and a foursomes winter knockout
The one thing I can promise anyone who joins the seniors is a friendly and welcoming introduction. Come and join us – if you are old enough – you will not regret it!
