“I was delighted this week to meet up with Tim Gorman-Powell from my nominated Captain’s charity ‘Hope Against Cancer’ and present him with a cheque for £4012.25p which was raised throughout the year.
Cancer continues to affect us all in different ways and I was delighted to raise money for Hope Against Cancer, a local Leicestershire and Rutland charity funding research and trials since 2003, and help them to continue to improve the outcomes for local cancer patients.
Tim was blown away with the amount of money that was raised and I want to personally thank each and every member for your support, help and huge generosity throughout the year. The money raised will make a real difference to local people who are fighting this horrendous disease and give them the best chance of positive outcomes.
I have so many happy memories of my Captaincy year and to handover a tremendous sum of money to such a worthy charity is a fitting finale.
