The Summer Cup was donated by Walter J. Lorrimer in August 1928.
Walter Lorrimer was an accomplished golfer and was a member not only at Rothley Park, but The Leicestershire, Luffenham and Little Aston. He was a director of Pool, Lorrimer and Tabberer, hosiery manufacturers in King Street Leicester.
