Great Rescue & Repair Job by our Greenkeepers

We have had two incidents in the last week where damage has occurred on the 10th hole.

On Wednesday the 4th of Feb the Bovis machinery compound on Broadnook was robbed, with the thieves gaining access via the gate on the bridle path at the back of the 10th hole. A telehandler was stolen which was driven down the 10th hole to the bridle path where it then ended up in the ditch.

With great difficulty our greenstaff in conjunction with several Bovis men managed to extract it using one of Bovis’s diggers.

Then on Saturday night/Sunday morning, 7th/8th of February a van attempted to access the compound by way of the 10th hole again and although they were not able to steal anything this time they caused considerable damage to the 10th green and fairway.

Our Greens team have put in a sterling effort restoring the damaged areas.

The 10th green has been hollow cored and fertilised and the track damage has been top dressed.

We have vertidrained the fairway damage and followed with top dressing and will returf any deep cuts. We have also created a mount at the gateway to block any further incursion.

Congratulations to our greens staff for a brilliant job done.
