ROTHLEY PARK CAPTAINS RAISE OVER £9,000 FOR DEMENTIA UK
Every year the Captains at Rothley Park Golf Club chose a charity for which to raise money during their year in office. Last year both captains decided to work together for Dementia UK and raised an amazing £9,232.82 for the charity.
Across the year the captains, Darren Gilbert and Dawn Lewis, organised golf competitions and social events for this charity which has directly and indirectly affected many club members and their families. Highlights were the annual Captains’ Days which were hugely successful thanks to the enormous efforts from Darren and Dawn and their teams. Both captains were amazed by the generosity of the members.
Jenny Cartwright (Customer Services Manager at Lonsdale Mews in Quorn) accepted the cheque on behalf of Dementia UK. The money raised will fund assistance in the local area.
Rothley Park was recently voted the county’s number one course by leading golf magazine Golf Monthly. The club has a thriving ladies section and over 120 junior members.
