Over £5,000 Raised for Jan Dorn’s Charity
I was delighted to present a cheque for over £5000 to our local Air Ambulance heroes. This wonderful sum was raised mostly through donations from our Ladies’ section, at the Charity lunch, on Lady Captain’s Day and various raffles throughout the year. Mike Baldwin and Lou Preedy have also contributed an amazing £1000 through sales of reindeers and bird boxes. A small group of us from Rothley Park were made to feel very welcome and were shown round the base just off the A46 by the team last week. We were lucky that low cloud was preventing the helicopter from flying, so we were able to spend a lot of time asking questions and looking at the facilities. We were especially thrilled to learn that our money will more than cover two of their possibly life-saving missions.
