As we near the end of the season deep hollow coring work has started on a couple of selected greens in line with STRI advice.
This not only aerates the surface but also reduces the percentage of thatch accumulation in the sward. Other benefits are reduction of compaction and improved drainage. To complete the operation, the greens are top dressed.
