Clubhouse
You will have seen that we have been carrying out some necessary maintenance to the clubhouse to repair some “blown “double” glazing units and external painting keep the building looking as best it can. It is now looking much better.
We have also started a process to define our revised process to the renewal/update of the existing facility and thought that we would share some information on latest status
There are two parts to the initial phase of the plan. Firstly, to understand if the nature of the structural repairs required to the building and secondly to engage an architect to help us define and plan the future of what the clubhouse will be for the long-term future.
Building Structure
There have been some extensive discussions, surveys completed, and discussions held with our Insurers.
Although the clubhouse is suffering with some structural problems, the structural engineer’s findings are that some of the more serious issues are potentially covered by the club’s insurance policy. The next stage is for us to secure the acceptance of insurers to both the report’s findings and its recommendations.
Club house renewal/update
The team have been investigating potential architects and Flying Buttress Architecture Ltd. have been nominated to support the next steps. They are a local company, used to dealing with older buildings and dealing with organisations such as Rothley Park Golf Club.
The activity will be a staged approach to allow the club to consider direction at the end of each phase and seek approvals where required to progress the next stages, which includes clarifying project brief and initial feasibility studies
