Over Seeding all Greens with Bent Grass

Over seeding of all greens with a Bent grass mixture. Increasing the percentage of bent grass in the sward will make the greens more heat tolerant and drought resistant and require less chemical input.

Green’s Week Underway

Greens’ week is underway with solid tinning to a depth of between 4 and 7 inches on most greens and all green surrounds. The 7th, 15th and 17th greens will be hollow cored because of the instances of anaerobic black layer present in these greens.

Tree Clearing Complete

Following recommendations from STRI, we are thinning some of the upper branches and removing some dead trees from the back of the 7th green. Spiking 7th, 15th and 17th greens

We have spiked greens 15 and 17 this morning. We noticed a build up in black layer on those greens which is caused by anaerobic (lack of oxygen in the soil atmosphere) conditions.
