So Near Yet So Far for Rothley’s Scott Wormleighton

RPGC’s Scott Wormleighton (second from the right) came within 2 shots of winning the Robin Fraser Trophy for Rothley Park for the first time since 1980.
A fantastic performance by our top players, all of whom made the cut in the Robin Fraser 72 hole County season opener.
The competition was played over this weekend with 36 holes at Lutterworth and the final 36 holes today at Luffenham Heath.
Winner Richard Wale posted a 4 round total of 280 (67, 70, 75, 68) but Scott carded a four round total of 283 (71, 71, 72, 69) to narrowly miss the title by three shots.
Rothley’s Tom Roberts won the best 2nd day score at Luffenham Heath with rounds of 72 and 71.
Congratulations to all involved and to our Men’s Captain Andy Simpson for his support.
