Ladies Exchange Day at Worksop GC

Thanks to Worksop Golf Club for being wonderful hosts, making us so welcome, providing us with a beautiful course to play, and delicious food to eat.
The Rothley Ladies’ Exchange Day took place on Tuesday 7th May at Worksop GC. Past Lady Captain Sue welcomed us most warmly, and we were soon enjoying bacon rolls and coffee. The course was in great condition – apparently it is playable all year, and they had not suffered with the recent rains like we have. Most of our ladies had not played there before, and thoroughly enjoyed the course, which seemed quite long and challenging to some of us, but there were some great scores, and everybody came off the 18th green with a smile on their face. Four hours in the great outdoors had made everybody hungry, and we all enjoyed an excellent carvery afterwards, with choices of roast and lots of different vegetables, as well as all the other trimmings. Dessert and coffee followed.
The worthy winners were Caroline Simpson, Helen Morrell, Debbie Borley and Kali Morecroft. Runners-up – on count back – were Bea Cotton, Cate Alexander, Betty Weston and Angela Wright, and Dee Laurie and Di Lowe claimed third place, ably assisted by ghosts Gilly Clear and Gilly Walton. Nearest the Pin was won by Helen, and Caroline picked up the prize for Nearest the Pin in Two!
